Santo Domingo Norte. — The executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), doctor Julio César Landrón, made an uncoordinated visit to the General and Specialties Hospital Dr. Mario Tolentino Dipp, with the aim of directly verifying the functioning of the services and the general conditions of care for users.
During the tour, the head of the SNS was accompanied by Dr. Miguel Ángel Guzmán Fermín, director of the center, with whom he observed the operability of the services and the dynamics of care.
The supervision included the areas of Emergency, Consultation, Internment, Surgery, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Mental Health and Laboratory, as well as diagnostic imaging services. This allowed to verify the flow of patients, the availability of resources and the response capacity of the health personnel to the demand.
This type of uncoordinated visits is part of the follow-up actions carried out by the current management of the SNS, aimed at strengthening the continuous monitoring of health facilities and promoting the permanent improvement of the quality of care in the public network.
During the day, Landrón held exchanges with users and collaborators of the center, in order to know firsthand their experiences and perceptions about the attention received, as input for decision-making.
As a result of the tour, the official made himself available to collaborate as needed, especially in strengthening the organization and optimizing the internal processes of the establishment, inaugurated by President Luis Abinader, whom he thanked for his support of the health system.
The head of the SNS highlighted that the Mario Tolentino Dipp Hospital has clinical and surgical conditions that place it at the level of reference centers in the region. He also highlighted its technological capacity, assuring that it has high-level magnetic resonance and tomography equipment, which significantly strengthens the clinical-surgical care offered to the population.
Also, along with the hospital's address, he instructed the expansion of services with the habilitation of a new gastroenterology area, as part of the actions aimed at continuing to strengthen the center's service portfolio.
Landrón congratulated the medical, nursing, and administrative staff for their commitment and daily work in favor of the user population.
"These visits allow us to directly observe the reality of the services and continue to promote improvements that positively impact patients," he expressed.
The official reiterated that these supervisory actions will continue to be carried out in different centers of the public health services network, as part of the institutional commitment to quality, efficiency, and the humanization of care.
