Dominican singer Víctor Roque apologized for the absence on stage of Puerto Rican performer Manny Manuel during the “Merengue Legends” event, which took place on Saturday night at the Coca-Cola Music Hall. Roque clarified that the voice of “Si una vez” arrived at the venue, but the decision was made that he would not go on stage.
"It's very difficult for us to comply with you because today he really had a relapse," confessed Roque to the audience present at the event, which also featured the legendary musician Wilfrido Vargas, according to a video circulating on social media.

"I don't know if it's the alcohol, but I ask you to please, any claim you are going to make with Manny, I will stand up for him, because he wanted to do it from the heart," he continued before continuing with the concert function produced by Vitico Roque along with OPM Events.
The promotion of the event, which included the Puerto Rican, promised to unite the New York band and Wilfrido Vargas along with the “King of Hearts” for an evening in which each exponent would present their best repertoire.
The voice of "Silent Beast" celebrated 30 years of career last October in the same venue. In an interview with Primera Hora, he revealed that he saw the event as "an eternal thank you" appreciating that the public still welcomes him with open arms, even with his problems with alcohol. "Without those blows, although they have been very hard and the one who has suffered the most is me, I would not have learned so much. I have such a great, such a special perspective on life, thanks to all these events. I don't think I would change anything, because the experience and strength that I have today, I am sure that other people do not possess it," the artist then stated, who in March of this year announced that he married his partner, Pablo.
This media outlet contacted its press spokesperson, Cindy Villarraga, who indicated that they will issue statements later "with the love and respect that the fanbase deserves."
