Accident between truck and bus leaves several injured in Sabaneta

Sabaneta.- A traffic accident that occurred on the night of this Tuesday in the municipality of Sabaneta, Santiago Rodríguez province, left several people injured, after the collision between a truck and a passenger bus. According to preliminary reports, the truck was allegedly driven by a minor, which would have influenced the impact with the Caribe Tours bus, which was traveling on the Santo Domingo–Loma de Cabrera route. The minor suffered serious injuries, including fractures in both legs, as well as blows and lacerations, so he was urgently transferred to the General Provincial Hospital Santiago Rodríguez.

In the bus, at least four passengers suffered minor injuries. Among those affected is the wife of the former consul and leader of the Dominican Liberation Party, Apolinar Cruz. Other injured people were treated at the Gran Poder de Dios Medical Center, where they remain under medical observation. Civil Defense members went to the scene of the accident to assist the injured and coordinate response efforts, while dozens of onlookers gathered in the area after the event.
