British Benjamin Pritchard became the first participant to break a record at the World Rowing Championships held in Shanghai (China) this Monday, by smashing the best Paralympic mark that had been so far in this tournament in the PR1 men's single sculls.
In the second day of competition, Pritchard clocked a time of 8:59.60, surpassing the time held since 2023 by Ukrainian Roman Polianskyi in a World Championship, reports the International Rowing Federation in a statement.
Both rowers will compete for the world title this Friday along with Paralympic bronze medalist Erik Horrie (Australia) and 2023 world silver medalist Giacomo Perini (Italy).
