Chinese entrepreneurs say they want to work alongside national production and in legality

Representatives from a Chinese business sector in the Dominican Republic reiterated their willingness to work in a coordinated manner with the authorities and productive sectors, under a spirit of brotherhood and strict adherence to current regulations.

Jessica Peng, spokesperson for the business group, stated that the sector's objective is to collaborate openly and constructively on issues relevant to the sector. She assured that the companies she represents comply with Dominican labor laws and maintain a constant effort to optimize their regulatory standards.

Peng emphasized the strategic importance of Dominican talent in its work operations. "We deeply appreciate the commitment and professionalism of Dominicans; their talent is fundamental to our success," highlighted the businesswoman, after pointing out that the doors of her companies are open to anyone who meets the job requirements.

In that sense, the representative of the eastern entrepreneurs highlighted the country's position in the regional environment: "The Dominican Republic, as the economic leader of Central America and Latin America, reflects the industriousness and wisdom of the Dominican people," Peng expressed.

•Clarification and apologies

Regarding recent statements by lawyer Ramón Peralta, Peng regretted that these were misinterpreted, clarifying that they were issued in a personal capacity and do not represent the position of the Chinese business sector, which is based on respect and non-confrontation.

For his part, jurist Ramón Peralta offered a public apology to the citizenry. He explained that his intention was to point out that any Dominican has the opportunity to join Chinese companies as long as they meet the required profiles. He reiterated that at no time did he intend to offend his compatriots, whom he recognizes for their work and effort in the country's economic development.
