Santo Domingo. - This year, Villa Navidad arrived with an expanded and completely renovated proposal, incorporating new attractions that will captivate visitors in the gardens of the Palacio de los Deportes.
In addition to its beautiful display of lights and colors, the show includes a drone show, a puppet show, the Carousel, a foam show with the Grinch, a cultural corner, in charge of the Ministry of Culture, the Sports Museum, Road Education, with interactive activities, and fireworks every weekend.
The opening of this magical space marks the formal start of the Christmas season in the country, with an event filled with lights, activities, and joy.

President Luis Abinader led the official inauguration of Villa Navidad this Monday, a place where families gather, children dream, and magic illuminates every corner. The activity, held in the gardens of the Palacio de los Deportes, was attended by the First Lady, Raquel Arbaje, the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, the executive president of the Banco de Reservas, Leonardo Aguilera, as well as local authorities, representatives of public institutions and hundreds of families who participated in the celebration. By uttering a few brief words, President Abinader interacted with the families present and assured them that the year 2026 will be one of much health, hope, and success. "This is a time of much love, joy, optimism, and hope. I wish this time to be magical and that Christmas Village be visited by all the families of the country," expressed the president. Meanwhile, the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, expressed that Villa Navidad is a space to share and to build memories that will always accompany us. Likewise, he invited all families to enjoy a space created with love for children and adults. On his part, the executive president of Banco de Reservas, Leonardo Aguilera, pointed out that Banco de Reservas is very pleased to sponsor this event. He considered that Christmas Village brings families closer together as it is a time to unite and bring joy to the country. Villa Navidad presented its traditional offer of attractions, including the Snow Forest, the Face Painting Area, the Family Park and various spaces designed for the safe and free entertainment of children and adults. During the inaugural event, President Abinader and Mayor Mejía lit the Great Christmas Tree, the central spectacle of the event, accompanied by music and a thematic staging that marked the festive spirit of the night. The authorities invited Dominican families to continue enjoying this unique experience, which seeks to promote coexistence, healthy entertainment, and the essence of Christmas. The attractions will remain open to the public until Epiphany.
