Drone attack in Belgorod: several injured and city hall damaged

Two Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian city of Belgorod on Monday morning, injuring two people, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.

According to the official, both injured people were taken to a hospital. For his part, the mayor of Belgorod, Valentin Demidov, specified that as a result of the impact of drones in the city center, the facade and windows of a multi-story residential building, a car, as well as the local city hall building were damaged.

"At this moment, our services are already working on site. The authorities are preparing the necessary documentation to restore everything as quickly as possible," added the official.

In this context, Gladkov described the operational situation in the province as "extremely complicated," adding that only over the past Sunday ten people were injured and three died as a result of Ukrainian attacks.

The governor assured that Russian forces "are taking all possible measures to improve the situation." "I am confident that this will happen very soon," he concluded.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, overnight from Sunday to Monday, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 114 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones, including 19 drones over the territory of the Belgorod province.
