Boca Chica. – The Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA), headed by its rector, Mtro. Rafael Félix García, celebrated the closing of the activity "Desafío Creativo 2025", an initiative aimed at fostering creativity and innovation among its students and graduates.
For the first time, students from the ITLA winners of various categories of competitions in the area of creativity, will receive cash prizes totaling 300,000 pesos, as well as electronic equipment and important certifications in their respective areas of study, which will contribute to the development of their professional careers. The awarded categories were as follows: in "Super Mario", the first prize received the sum of 15,000 pesos. In "Project 24", the third place obtained 10,000 pesos, the second place 20,000 pesos and the first place 25,000 pesos. In "Vector Challenge", the third place received 10,000 pesos, the second place 20,000 pesos and the first place 25,000 pesos. In the category "Photorally", the third place obtained 5,000 pesos, the second place 10,000 pesos and the first place 20,000 pesos. Finally, in "BIT+BIT", the second place received 10,000 pesos and the first place 15,000 pesos. In the framework of the closing of "Creative Detune 2025" the academic community and special guests were part of the conference "The Power of Good Words", given by Roberto Ángel Salcedo, Minister of Culture. During his words, the rector of ITLA highlighted the creative qualities of the students and graduates of the Multimedia career at ITLA, whom he congratulated for their dedication and discipline. "Our institution is proud to train professionals who not only master the technique, but also possess an innovative vision that allows them to excel in the world of work," he stated. In that sense, he thanked the presentation by the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, for such a timely dissertation on the importance of effective communication and creativity in professional development. “Today, this informative meeting calls us to reflect precisely on this invisible force that shapes customs, elevates or degrades, that can turn a man into a bridge or an abyss. And what better audience for this meditation, you young people of ITLA, called to be custodians of a future where technology and culture must march together under the guidance of a worthy and responsible language. We thank the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, because from the entity he heads, the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic has undertaken the task of strengthening the soul of the nation, through the well-spoken word,” highlighted Félix García. For his part, during his presentation, the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, emphasized the importance of effective communication and creativity in personal and professional development. His words resonated deeply among the attendees, inspiring young people to use their voice to generate a positive impact on society. "With the purpose of lowering the levels of violence that occur in Dominican society. Although it is not an exclusive case of our country, because it has a global condition, we, from the Ministry of Culture, have to worry about our own and in this case about our society. In that sense, our call has an individual vocation, and it is to assume an individual commitment and that after the individual we can move on to the collective, and precisely through the well-spoken word we want to bring reflections and lessons to be of contribution to the good development of our society because it is evident that all aspects of life influence", pointed out the Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo. "Creative Detune 2025" organized by maestro Werner Olmos, in charge of the Center of Excellence for Multimedia and Sound, has been a space for learning and reflection, where ideas and experiences that strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit of the ITLA community have been shared. The activity not only celebrates creativity but also reaffirms ITLA's commitment to educational excellence and the integral development of its students.ITLA recognized artistic talent through "Creative Defiance 2025".
In addition to the cash prizes, during the awards ceremony, participants received a varied selection of academic, technological, and promotional incentives. Among the recognitions awarded were exemptions from re-enrollment corresponding to the next four-month period, 2026-C-1, as well as specialized diplomas from the Coursera platform, including a diploma in Video Games. Likewise, several award winners obtained continuing education courses from ITLA, in addition to certification exams in key areas such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe in other specialties, and Unity. In the technological field, the prizes included Honor tablets, Apple AirPods, and a Galaxy A07 cell phone. Various promotional kits were also awarded, including the Altice kits and the BlinkR kit consisting of a hoodie and a t-shirt.Participants and Winners
In the “Super Mario Smash Bros Tournament”, Weddy Martínez Adames obtained first place, while Mathew Hereford reached second place. In the "Glitch & Glory" competition, the Summer Nostalgia project by One Eye Production took third place, and Out Of Time, developed by Lifukan, achieved second place. First place was awarded to the NOTfunnyTEAM team with their video game Barrio Quest. Also participating in this category were Michael Rijo Paula, Julián Rodríguez de León, Laisa Hidequel Delis, Yeribel Reyes Aybar, Luis Miguel López and Yorgi de la Rosa. Regarding the “PHOTORALLY”, Vicmairys Rosario Galán obtained first place, followed by R. Starlyn de León Saint-Hilaire in second place and Elmer José García Bello in third. In "BIT+BIT", Carlos Montero was the winner, while Franklin Valdez took second place. Meanwhile, in the Vector Challenge, the third prize went to the team The Swatchers and the second to the team Vectoriz-Hadas, both made up of outstanding design students. In the attractive "Jam Session", the duo formed by Adonis Pérez and Misael Prensibil obtained the first prize; Federico Peña and Odelfin Rodríguez reached the second place and Josué Castillo along with Caroline Jiménez received the third prize.Finally, in the "Project 24" category, the Shooters team took first place. Second place went to the Hex team and third place went to Visionarie, all made up of young talents who presented innovative and high-level proposals.
For three days, "Desafine Creativo 2025" presented a scheme of interactive activities, talks, and conferences related to creativity.
