Multiple accident on the Coral del Este highway leaves one dead in La Romana

La Romana, R.D. — A tragic traffic accident that occurred on the Coral del Este highway, near the Dulce River bridge, left one person dead and several vehicles involved. The victim was identified as Mario Vinicio Beriguete Montero, who lost his life after being involved in a multiple accident in which more than seven vehicles participated, according to preliminary information. According to reports, a truck traveling on the aforementioned road suddenly encountered the scene of the accident and could not brake in time, impacting one of the vehicles already involved in the collision. The truck driver remained at the scene after the incident.

Members of the National Police, Civil Defense, the General Directorate of Transit and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT), and the Fire Department went to the scene, where they worked on assistance, traffic control, and the removal of the vehicles. The body was raised by the coroner Benito Kelly, while the competent authorities initiated investigations to establish the exact circumstances in which the accident occurred.
