The company Petróleos Nacionales S.A.S. (Petronan) clarified this Friday that the station closed by the authorities for selling poor quality premium gasoline in the municipality of Castañuelas, Montecristi province, has not belonged to its network of stations since 2022.
The company specified that it is currently undergoing a formal legal process with the aim of definitively withdrawing the use of its brand, both at the Castañuelas station and at the station located in Villa Vásquez, which also does not belong to its network.
Likewise, he valued the inspection and control actions carried out by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and SMEs (MICM) and the Specialized Corps for the Control of Fuels and Merchandise Trade (CECCOM), reiterating its willingness to collaborate with the authorities in everything that is required to contribute to the protection of the Dominican consumer.
The company recalled that since they started operations in the country, they have aimed to guarantee each customer the quality and exact quantity of the fuel they pay for.
In that sense, he highlighted that it has more than 100 active stations nationwide, operating under high standards, with calibrated meters and certificates of origin that support each shipment.
The MICM and CECCOM proceeded to close a fuel dispensing station in the municipality of Castañuelas, Montecristi province, after laboratory tests confirmed that the gasoline they were selling as premium did not meet the minimum required quality.
The closure of the station took place after an inspection in which samples were taken from the fuel they were selling.
