Los Ángeles.- The Sony Pictures trailer for 'Spider-Man: A Brand New Day' surpassed 1 billion views, according to data from the data analysis company Wavemetrix collected this Tuesday by Variety.
The advance currently has 1.1 billion views, consolidating itself as the most viewed in history, according to the specialized media outlet.
The preview of the film starring Tom Holland had broken the record for the premiere of the most-watched trailer of all time after reaching 718.6 million views in its first 24 hours.
In just eight hours, the new trailer shattered the record of 'Deadpool & Wolverine' (2024), which led the chart with 365 million views.
With this milestone, the film surpasses the mark that the Marvel film set after dethroning 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' (2021), which previously held the title with 355.5 million views on its first day.
According to the official synopsis, the new installment jumps forward four years after the events of 'No Way Home.' Peter 'lives completely alone, after voluntarily erasing himself from the lives and memories of his loved ones'. The superhero continues to fight crime in New York full-time, "but as demands increase, the pressure triggers a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, while a new and strange pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced," it continues.
