SANTO DOMINGO.– Amid an international context marked by the conflict in Iran and the sustained rise in oil prices, citizens consulted expressed concern about the possible impact on the cost of living and the economic measures that could be adopted in the country to address the situation.
The main fear of users revolves around a possible widespread price increase. Daniel, one of those consulted, considered that any economic adjustment could affect the most vulnerable sectors more strongly.
Other citizens, like Mathias, understand that the situation is due to international factors, although they recognize that the local impact is inevitable. “It's a situation that will affect us. There is more fear about what may happen, but hopefully the oil market will stabilize”, he/she pointed out, referring to the uncertainty generated by the global scenario."When we talk about war, everything goes up. The poor are the ones who are going to struggle, that's why it's important that measures are taken to help people," he expressed.
