Santo Domingo. - The meteorological analyst, Jean Suriel, reported this Wednesday that a new storm is developing in the Central Atlantic called Humberto.
In that sense, he detailed that the GFS, EUROPEAN, and CANADIAN forecast models agree on developing two tropical cyclones during the weekend and at the beginning of next week: in fact, Tropical Storm Humberto is dissipating northeast of the Lesser Antilles.
Meanwhile, the weather situation will be getting complicated in the next 24 hours in a large part of the Dominican Republic, due to the combination of several atmospheric factors: the active tropical wave number 38 is already located southeast of Puerto Rico, the trough will continue to affect and marine humidity will contribute to increase torrential rains.
He also said that the wind gusts from the atmospheric disturbance are already reaching Dominican territory and the dense cloud cover will increase in the coming hours: the potential for flash floods will be present this afternoon and will extend until Saturday.
The trough, along with the hot temperatures and marine humidity, will activate significant showers in the next 12 hours, with wind gusts and electrical discharges in much of the country.
