Threatening storm arrives in NY, New Jersey, and Connecticut this weekend

The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter storm warning for New York, northeastern New Jersey, and southern Connecticut for this weekend. The agency forecast heavy snowfall that will begin tomorrow afternoon and will extend until Saturday, and warned that these will likely affect Christmas travel. The worst part of the storm will take place between 7:00 PM New York time (00:00 GMT) and 1:00 AM (6:00 GMT) and heavier snowfall is expected from 8:00 PM, with a total of between 10 and 20 centimeters of snow.
