The President of the United States,
Donald Trump, stated that he does not rule out the possibility of
sending US troops to Iran with the aim of securing and controlling the
enriched uranium reserves of the Iranian regime, amid the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
The statements come as
the United States and Israel intensify their military offensive against Iranian targets, with attacks targeting strategic facilities linked to the nuclear program and the country's energy infrastructure.
Possible troop deployment
Trump explained that his government is analyzing different military options to prevent Iran from continuing to develop nuclear capabilities. Among these alternatives is the "sending of ground forces to physically secure the enriched uranium reserves" and prevent them from being used to manufacture nuclear weapons.
Although he did not confirm that the measure will be implemented, the president made it clear that
it is not ruled out within the US military strategy.
Concern about the Iranian nuclear program
The White House maintains that the Iranian regime had been
secretly enriching uranium, which would have accelerated the decision to initiate military operations in the region. According to Washington, this program could allow Iran to
develop nuclear weapons, something that the United States considers a direct threat to international security.
Trump reiterated that his administration
will not allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons, and that he is willing to take more forceful measures if the conflict continues to escalate.
Escalation of the conflict
The situation in the Middle East has worsened in recent days with
attacks and counterattacks between Iran and allies of the United States, which has heightened international tensions and the risk of a wider war.
Analysts warn that a possible deployment of US troops inside Iranian territory
would represent a significant escalation of the conflict, with possible repercussions throughout the region.
