Santo Domingo, R.D.— The University Employees Association (ASODEMU) highlighted the role played by the rector of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, in the materialization of important claims in favor of the institution's workers.
During an institutional event, the president of the union, José B. Rosario Cuevas, stated that the achievements made in recent years have been possible thanks to a management characterized by openness to dialogue and a willingness to listen to the demands of university staff.
Rosario Cuevas pointed out that, at the beginning of the current administration in November 2022, there was a complex panorama, with accumulated claims and a labor community that required concrete answers. However, she assured that the rectorate assumed the commitment to address those needs.
In that sense, he valued decisions such as the approval of a pending 15% salary increase, the execution of more than 1,300 actions for the benefit of employees, and the completion of more than 500 appointments.
Likewise, he highlighted the implementation of the 14th salary, considered a historic achievement for the sector, as well as the salary indexation of 30%, measures that - he indicated - reflect an approach of justice and dignification of the university worker.
