Millizen Uribe Receives Double Recognition in Lawrence

Uribe was included by Forbes Dominican Republic among the “50 Most Powerful Women” in the country in 2024.

Massachusetts.- The journalist and radio and television commentator, Millizen Uribe, was recognized with two important official distinctions for her professional career and her commitment to defending the rights of Dominican migrants. The city of Lawrence, which is home to one of the largest and most active Dominican communities in the United States, valued her work as a critical and empathetic voice in favor of the rights of the Dominican diaspora.

She was honored with a Certificate of Recognition from the Mayor, and declared a Distinguished Visitor of the city through an official proclamation signed by all members of the Council. You can also read:


Both recognitions highlight his contribution to journalism, education, human rights and social activism, as well as his work in making visible the contributions of Dominican migrants to the economic, political and cultural development of cities like Lawrence.


“Siempre he sentido una profunda empatía por los migrantes, por quienes deciden o, en algunos casos, se ven obligados a dejar su tierra, pero se suman a aportar con dignidad al desarrollo social y económico de otros países.
