Israel is attacking Tehran "with unprecedented force," says Defense Minister

Jerusalem.- Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, assured this Monday that warplanes are attacking "with unprecedented force" targets in Tehran, and threatened retaliation against Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, while missile salvos continue.

The Army "is attacking regime targets and government (Iranian) repression bodies in the heart of Tehran with unprecedented force. For every shot at the Israeli internal front, the Iranian dictator (Khamenei) will be punished and the attacks will continue with all their force," Katz said in a statement.

The two new missile attacks from Iran on Israel that sounded the alarms in several areas of the center and north of the country on the morning of this Monday resulted in no injuries, reported the Israeli emergency service, before the sirens were activated again in northern Israel. The Times of Israel newspaper indicated that one of the missiles fell near "strategic infrastructure" in southern Israel, citing the Israel Electric Corporation, which has caused power outages in several locations in the area and thousands of homes. Under the operational name 'Midnight Hammer', the United States directly entered the open war between Israel and Iran yesterday by bombing the Iranian nuclear centers of Isfahan, Natanz and Fordo, with the official objective of preventing Tehran from manufacturing a nuclear bomb. In this air and sea operation - planned for months - 125 aircraft participated, seven B-2 bombers, refueling tankers, reconnaissance aircraft and fighters; and 75 bombs (including anti-bunker) and missiles were used in the attack, according to the Pentagon. The Islamic Republic told the UN that the country's armed forces will decide "the timing, nature, and scale of Iran's proportional response," which they anticipated would have "lasting consequences." Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive eleven days ago, 24 people have died in Israel - in addition to a woman who suffered a heart attack in a bunker - while in Iran the dead are more than 400, according to the country's Ministry of Health. However, a pro-human rights group, based in Washington, raises the death toll in Iran to more than 850 and almost 3,400 injured.
