Santo Domingo. - Doctor Jorge Asjana David, candidate for the rectory of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), made a call this Friday to the university community to maintain serenity and strengthen the commitment to the educational and social mission of the state academy.

Asjana David urged guilds, authorities, teachers, students, and administrative staff to always keep open the path of respectful and constructive dialogue as a way to resolve differences and move forward together.

"Respect for university guilds and their historical achievements is fundamental, but these struggles must be developed within a framework of concertation that preserves the tranquility that has characterized UASD in recent years," he affirmed.

The academic highlighted that his commitment is to the integral well-being of the university family, ensuring that the institution remains open, in peace, and in harmony with its mission to educate, research, and serve the country. He also emphasized that the more than 200,000 students who trust in UASD deserve that collective efforts be directed towards guaranteeing the continuity of their education and institutional strengthening.

Asjana David reiterated her determination to work in favor of building consensus, the unity of all UASD sectors, and the consolidation of a future of development, modernization, and stability for the university.

In that sense, he spoke in favor of the creation of a "Transparent and respectful Dialogue Table" that allows for the construction of immediate consensus, guarantee rights, reopen teaching, and return to normality under the exercise of co-governance in the academy.

"United for the well-being of the university family, with UASD and for UASD," concluded Dr. Jorge Asjana David.
