Government delivers report on irregularities in SeNaSa to PGR and reiterates commitment to transparency

Santo Domingo. – The Dominican government delivered this Saturday to the Attorney General's Office a report containing findings of serious irregularities in the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), reaffirming its commitment to transparency and the fight against corruption. The document was filed by the Superintendent of Health and Occupational Risks, Miguel Ceara Hatton, and the executive director of the National Health Insurance (SeNaSA), Edward Guzmán, and received by the Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso, so that the Public Prosecutor's Office can carry out the corresponding investigations. The Director of Strategy and Governmental Communication and spokesperson for the President of the Republic, Félix Reyna, declared that "this action reaffirms President Abinader's unwavering commitment to transparency, institutionalism, and the frontal fight against impunity and corruption, without exceptions or privileges." Likewise, Reyna assured that the health services offered by SeNaSa continue to function regularly: "We call for the tranquility of all members of the National Health Insurance. This action does not affect in any way the continuity or quality of the health services guaranteed by SeNaSa. Services will continue to be provided in a timely, humane and efficient manner, as always."

The official added that the country can be assured that, as investigations proceed, the Public Ministry itself will be in charge of reporting with responsibility and transparency. Finally, Reyna emphasized that "the Dominican government reiterates its firm commitment to protect public resources, guarantee ethics in institutional administration, and strengthen the Social and Democratic Rule of Law."
