Eduardo Martínez calls the 2026 budget approval "crime", without salary indexation.

The communicator Eduardo Martínez described the approval of a General State Budget without the inclusion of salary indexation as "a true crime", considering that this omission directly affects the country's working class.

Martínez referred to the approval of the National Budget for the year 2026 by the majority of the National Congress, controlled by the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM). According to what he expressed, the result was predictable, but no less regrettable.

"As expected, but it is truly regrettable and even a crime against the working class that the long-awaited application and recognition of wage indexation has not been included within the legislative piece," he stated.

However, Martínez also questioned the priorities of public spending, pointing out that resources have been allocated for other concepts, while, in his opinion, the worker's effort is not recognized.

In that sense, he cited the allocation of funds for the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa), the so-called "Christmas breeze", the Supérate program, and the approval of new loans, contrasting it with the absence of salary adjustments.

Eduardo Martínez stated that the lack of wage indexation in the budget deepens the loss of workers' purchasing power and called for a review of the social approach of budgetary policies.

"As expected, but truly regrettable and even a crime for the working class, that the long-awaited application and recognition of wage indexation was not included within the legislative piece," he maintained.
