Trough favors showers for this Friday

Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), forecast that the atmospheric weather in our territory will remain under the interaction of a trough at various levels of the troposphere with the influence of moderate northeast winds that maintain a constant drag of clouds towards our territory, producing from early hours, cloud developments with moderate to heavy showers at times, isolated thunderstorms and possible wind gusts, mainly in towns of: María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Duarte, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Montecristi, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, Santiago, Dajabón and Sánchez Ramírez. In the afternoon and evening, these precipitations will continue to occur in the indicated provinces and will extend to localities of: San Pedro de Macorís, San Cristóbal, Monte Plata, Peravia and El Gran Santo Domingo. However, for tomorrow Saturday, a decrease in humidity content is forecast over our territory, however, the arrival of cloudy fields associated with the prevailing east/northeast wind will persist, and together with local effects (daytime heating and orographic) and a wide trough to the west of the region, will produce sporadic during the day, scattered to moderate rains at times with wind gusts over towns of: Puerto Plata, Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, Samaná, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal and San José de Ocoa.

Pleasant to cool temperatures, mainly over mountainous areas and valleys in the interior of the country, due to the time of year (winter) and the cool northeast wind; with the occurrence of episodes of fog or mist in the early morning hours. National District: scattered clouds increasing in the afternoon until the early hours of the night with moderate showers at times and possible wind gusts. Santo Domingo Norte: increasing cloudiness in the afternoon until the early hours of the night with moderate showers and occasional wind gusts. Santo Domingo Este: Increased cloudiness during the afternoon until the early hours of the night with showers and possible wind gusts. Santo Domingo Oeste: partly cloudy to cloudy in the afternoon until the early hours of the night with moderate showers and occasional wind gusts. Minimum temperatures between 18 °C and 20 °C and the maximum between 27 °C and 29 °C. Summary: Moderate northeast wind and a trough at various levels of the troposphere favor cloudiness with showers of varying intensity, distant thunderstorms and isolated wind gusts, especially over the regions: north, northeast, southeast and the Central Mountain Range…Cool and pleasant temperatures in mountain areas…Normal maritime conditions on both coasts. Sunday, we will continue with an atmospheric pattern without significant changes, however, the arrival of clouds from the prevailing east/northeast wind will join the daytime heating and the local orography, to give rise to scattered to moderate rains at times with isolated gusts of wind, especially in locations in the regions: north, northeast, southeast and the Central Mountain Range, such as: the provinces of: Puerto Plata, Espaillat, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Monseñor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, Samaná, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Gran Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal, among other nearby ones.
