Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Paintball Series (DPS) clarified the differences between the sport of paintball and the use of hydrogel guns, following the recent ban of these devices in the country, and reiterated its commitment to safety, legality, and regulated sports practice. The entity supported the measures adopted by Pro Consumidor, considering that hydrogel guns pose risks to public health and safety when used in open and uncontrolled spaces. The DPS emphasized that paintball is not a street game, but an organized sports discipline that is practiced exclusively on private and authorized fields, under strict safety protocols, mandatory use of protective equipment and specialized supervision. He also explained that, unlike GelSoft, paintball has national and international regulations, identifiable sports markers, and trained personnel that ensures a safe environment for players and spectators.

Finally, the DPS called on the authorities and citizens to clearly differentiate paintball from unregulated practices, urging the promotion of organized, safe, and law-abiding sport.
