Bonao.– With the symbolic lighting of candles and the participation of hundreds of teachers and representatives of the APMAES, the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), Bonao branch, began on the night of Wednesday, January 28, a 72-hour struggle, demanding several claims from the education sector.
Among the main claims of the union are the opposition to the merger of the Ministry of Education (MINERD) with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), as well as the fair application of the teacher performance evaluation, including teachers from their first year of professional practice. During the activity, ADP-Bonao declared in mourning the Educational Districts 16-04 and 16-06, arguing that their incumbents lack the managerial capacity necessary to offer minimal responses to the problems affecting the teaching staff in the municipality of Bonao. We recommend reading:Fuerza Magisterial holds massive national assembly at the ADP headquarters
Likewise, the guild declared district directors Estanislao Peralta and Emeterio Béltré as unreliable interlocutors before the local teaching staff, for which they demanded the intervention of a high-level commission appointed by the Ministry of Education, which allows channeling effective solutions to existing conflicts. The president of the Municipal Executive Committee of the ADP-Bonao, professor Raúl Martínez, informed that the day of struggle will culminate next Friday the 29th with a grand march towards the Provincial Government, as part of the pressure actions for the authorities to address their demands.
