Mexico. The Caribbean Series Jalisco 2026 kicked off with a spectacular display of patriotism and excitement at the Pan American Stadium in Zapopan, Jalisco. The opening ceremony was attended by local and national authorities, as well as the participating teams in this tournament that brings together the best of Caribbean baseball.

The ceremony began with the display of a large Mexican flag, carried by soldiers from the different Armed Forces of Mexico, followed by honors to the national flag rendered by the music band of the Fifth Mexican Military Region. Immediately afterwards, the national anthems of Mexico and Dominican Republic were performed, as well as the anthem of the Caribbean Baseball Confederation, composed by the Dominican Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, president of said organization. Once this part was concluded, the first pitch was thrown, a distinction that fell to former major leaguer Sergio Romo. Subsequently, an artistic show was presented to close with a flourish and leave the field ready for the duel between Charros de Jalisco and Leones del Escogido. The Caribbean Series Jalisco 2026 will feature five teams: Red Mexico (Charros de Jalisco), Green Mexico (Tomateros de Culiacán), Dominican Republic (Leones del Escogido), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros de Santurce) and Panama (Federales de Chiriquí). The tournament will be held from February 1st to 7th at the Estadio Panamericano in Zapopan.
