Army intercepts SUV with 19 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition in Dajabón

Dajabón, R.D. – Through intelligence work, members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) stationed at the Beller Fortress, detained a vehicle in which a group of Haitian nationals were being transported in an irregular migratory condition in Dajabón. The operation was carried out in the Chacuey road sector, El Pino municipality, of the aforementioned province, where a Ford jeep, gold in color, license plate No. G076338, was stopped. Inside the vehicle, nineteen (19) Haitian nationals in irregular migratory condition were found, including fourteen (14) men, four (04) women and two (02) minors.

Upon noticing the ERD members' pursuit, the driver fled, abandoning the vehicle with the occupants, managing to escape the scene. Undocumented foreigners detained and the vehicle seized were placed under military custody and will be referred to the competent authorities for the corresponding legal purposes.
