Family Guy remains on the air after reaching episode 450

The creator of the animated series Seth MacFarlane recently spoke about the future of Family Guy after the show reached episode number 450, a milestone that corresponds to the 24th season of the production.

During an interview on the Today show, MacFarlane was asked if he had already thought about how the story of the Griffin family would end. The creator responded humorously that he doesn't know for sure and joked that he will probably know when his doctor tells him to sit down for a serious talk.

The producer explained that the series will continue “as long as we are able to produce it”, making it clear that there is no immediate plan to end it. He also acknowledged that some might interpret that answer as being motivated by economic reasons, although he insisted that his priority remains entertaining the public.

The episode 450, titled "The Edible Arrangement", premiered on February 15th and shows Lois and Stewie Griffin exploring their relationship after consuming edibles prepared by Brian, according to the official synopsis.

The series debuted in 1999 on the Fox network and, despite having been canceled in its early years, was re-aired in 2005 and has since continued with new episodes. With more than two decades on the air, it remains one of the benchmarks of animation for adults on American television.

MacFarlane also highlighted that the program works thanks to a creative team dedicated to comedy, made up of writers who seek to create stories that make themselves and the audience laugh.

With over 450 episodes and 24 seasons, Family Guy continues to combine cultural satire, irreverent humor, and parodies of everyday life, remaining one of the most influential animated series on television.
