"!Dance without fear, Tokyo!": Bad Bunny makes history with his first performance in Japan

Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny achieved another milestone for the history of the urban genre by performing at Spotify's Billions Club Live in Tokyo, Japan, thus marking his first performance at the event and on the Asian continent. The concert is a series of concerts that celebrates the artists whose songs have surpassed one billion streams on the platform, an achievement that Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, the artist's given name, has reached 29 times. The exclusive concert represents another achievement in his career amidst a period of great international exposure following his participation in the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

"Our first time in Tokyo, Japan, means a lot to me to be here, to see all of you. This show is about celebrating what we have achieved together, celebrating Latin music, conquering the whole world. This show is about the union of Puerto Rico with Tokyo and all the Latinos who are here," the artist expressed to the Japanese audience.

"It's about enjoying the simple things in life, like we're doing today: dancing, singing, jumping, sweating. So thank you for having us here, keep enjoying the night. Dance without fear, Tokyo!" he added.

During the concert, the Puerto Rican performer performed several of his songs that have reached over a billion plays on the platform. Videos shared by attendees on social media show a spectacle full of energy that provoked an enthusiastic reaction from the audience. Those present sang and danced to music in Spanish and even a Japanese person was in charge of saying "Acho PR es otra cosa" to open the presentation. Martínez Ocasio even included other Puerto Rican performers, such as Jowell y Randy and Los Pleneros de la Cresta in his presentation. Also, the artist performed Yonaguni, a song with lyrics in Spanish and Japanese, moving those present. Among the most commented moments of the presentation was the performance of DtMF, which unleashed the applause and screams of the fans present. In addition, The News International detailed that, before going on stage, Bad Bunny posed in front of 29 plaques commemorating the songs in his catalog that have surpassed one billion streams on Spotify. The show also marked the first edition of Spotify's Billions Club Live held in Asia.
