U.S. President Donald Trump denounced that the leader of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, does not want to reach a peace agreement to end his conflict with Russia. “I am surprised that Zelensky does not want to reach an agreement,” the US president stated in an interview for NBC News, while highlighting that the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, “is willing to do so.” “It is much more difficult to reach an agreement with Zelensky”, Trump added.

In addition, the occupant of the White House commented on the statements of the leader of the Ukrainian regime regarding the alleged request from the U.S. to the Slavic country to help it in the anti-drone fight in its conflict with Iran, stating that Washington "doesn't need help." And he added: "The last person we need help from is Zelensky".

"I want there to be oil"

Trump was also asked about the easing of US sanctions on Russian oil, which resulted in the authorization of the sale of crude oil and petroleum products of Russian origin loaded on ships before March 12 of this year. The measure was taken in a context of high volatility in the energy markets due to the war in the Middle East. "I want there to be oil for the world. I want there to be oil," Trump responded. He also added that the sanctions imposed on Russia since the beginning of the special military operation "will be restored as soon as the crisis ends."
  • Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that his country is committed to finding a diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian crisis. In particular, he emphasized that, first of all, the security of Russia must be guaranteed in the long term, so it is important to eliminate the root causes of the conflict, including the expansion of NATO, which Moscow perceives as a threat, and the violation of the rights of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.
  • Moscow's proposal contemplates that Kiev completely withdraw its troops from the people's republics of Donetsk and Lugansk and from the provinces of Zaporozhye and Kherson (incorporated into Russia after popular consultations in 2022) and that it recognizes these territories, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol, as subjects of the Russian Federation. In addition, the neutrality, non-alignment, as well as the denuclearization, demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine must be guaranteed.
  • Meanwhile, the leader of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, continues to categorically reject the possibility of renouncing its territorial claims to resolve the conflict with Russia peacefully.
