Final works progress for the inauguration of the Samaná entrance

Samaná.- After years of claims from residents and visitors, the construction and renovation work on the entrance to the municipality of Santa Bárbara de Samaná is advancing in its final phase, a project that will mark a before and after in the image and functionality of this important tourist demarcation. The project, which will be inaugurated in the coming weeks, represents an important step in the urban and tourist development of the area, according to local authorities. For years, residents expressed the need to improve access to the city, considered one of the main gateways to tourism in the northeast region of the country. Today, that aspiration is getting closer to becoming a reality.

The work includes the widening of the road from two to four lanes, as well as the installation of a modern lighting system and significant improvements to the road infrastructure, especially designed to facilitate the transit of heavy vehicles and cargo. It is expected that the works will be completed before Easter 2026, one of the seasons with the highest tourist flow in the area, which will represent a positive impact on both mobility and the first impression received by those who visit this destination. With this intervention, Samaná continues advancing in its process of urban transformation and strengthening of its tourist offer.
