3,500 runners will participate in the Carrefour 10K 2026 race

The twelfth edition of the 10K Carrefour race will feature the participation of 3,500 runners when the start is given on Sunday, April 26, Carrefour executives announced. Registrations were completed after reaching the figure set as the maximum goal, a sign of the enthusiasm that this race generates. The race will start at 7:00 a.m. from Downtown Center, on Núñez de Cáceres Avenue, corner of Rómulo Betancourt, to make a new established route, until reaching the finish line on George Washington Avenue at the height of Vista del Mar park. At this point, the 10 kilometers are completed after passing sections of Anacaona and Jiménez Moya avenues, where the runners will descend to the Santo Domingo boardwalk. The court will support the social action carried out by the Friends Against Childhood Cancer Foundation, Inc. (FACCI) and the Oír para Vivir Foundation. The event will support the work of the Amigos contra el Cáncer Infantil Foundation (FACCI), and the Oír para vivir Foundation. FACCI is a non-profit organization, founded by a group of volunteer friends, committed to developing activities focused on meeting the needs of comprehensive medical treatment for children and adolescents with cancer, Oír para Vivir Foundation, focused on improving the quality of life of people with hearing disabilities, in vulnerable conditions. Participants will have the opportunity to run in the Overall Male and Female category, as well as in the age divisions of 16 to 19 years old, 20-29 / 30-39 / 40-49 / 50-59 / 60-69 / 70 or more and participants in wheelchairs. Registrations ceased after the quota was filled and were made through the SDCTickets portal, www.sdctickets.do, or in person at the Carrefour on Duarte Highway and at Carrefour Market in Downtown Center. Those registered received a participation kit that includes the official Dry-Fit event t-shirt, a bib number/BIB, a timing chip, an official bag, and items from the sponsors. Registration at a cost of 1,900.00 pesos, of which a percentage is allocated to the Friends Against Childhood Cancer Foundation (FACCI), as well as the Oír para Vivir Foundation, as part of the Carrefour social responsibility project.
