In just their thirteenth visit to the stadium, the Arizona franchise found its protagonist in Marte. The second baseman opened the game with an imposing home run on the first pitch from starting pitcher Dean Kremer, a fastball that sent 443 feet into right field. The hit not only set the pace of the game, but also made history by becoming the first home run of the season to land on Eutaw Street and the first hit by a Diamondbacks player in that iconic sector of the stadium. Mars punished the opposing pitching staff again two innings later with another 405-foot home run, coming close to becoming the second player to have two of his hits reach that street in the same game. At that moment, Arizona was dominating the scoreboard 4-1. With his outstanding performance, Marte hit four home runs in the campaign, all connected as a visitor. After his second at-bat, he left his offensive line at .222/.290/.444. One of the most striking aspects of the day was the height of the first launch that turned into a home run: 3.70 feet, one of the highest pitches he has managed to hit out of the park in his career.

An iconic baseball scenario

Eutaw Street is a pedestrian street located behind the right field of the Orioles' stadium, considered a "living museum" of the most memorable home runs. Each ball that lands there is commemorated with a plaque that records the player's name, the date, and the distance of the hit. Marte's performance not only boosted his team, but also wrote them into the history of one of the most emblematic corners of the Major Leagues.
