Wood leads with the wood

Wood had an outstanding performance at bat, recording a .545 average (12 hits in 22 at-bats) in six games. His production included three doubles, three home runs, eight RBIs, and eight runs scored, as well as two stolen bases. The outfielder led the Major Leagues in average, on-base percentage (.655), slugging (1.091), OPS (1.746), and hits, solidifying himself as one of the most dominant offensive figures of the period.

Soriano dominates from the mound

On the hill, Soriano maintained his impressive start to the season with a 2-0 record and an ERA of 0.60 in two starts. The right-hander allowed just one earned run in 15 innings, with only five hits, three walks, and 20 strikeouts. The Dominican also currently leads the Majors in effectiveness (0.33), wins (4) and strikeouts (31), establishing himself as one of the most effective arms of the start of the season.

Beck shines on defense

For his part, Beck stole the spotlight with the best play of the week, robbing a home run from batter Nick Castellanos during the Rockies and Padres matchup, an action that stood out for its precision and spectacular nature. With outstanding performances in offense, pitching, and defense, the week made clear the high competitive level that marks the start of the season in Major League Baseball.
