SANTO DOMINGO. — The 2026 season of the National Basketball League (LNB) begins this Tuesday with the participation of nine teams that will compete for the Banreservas Cup, in a tournament that promises a high level of competition and great appeal for fans.

The defending champions, the Southern Titans, will take the court in search of their third consecutive championship when they face the Santiago Metros at 8:30 p.m. at the San Cristóbal Sports Complex.
In the other match of the opening day, the debutants Héroes de Moca will receive the Marineros de Puerto Plata at 8:00 p.m. at the Moca 85 Sports Center.
The inclusion of the Heroes raises the number of franchises in the championship to nine, completing the circuit along with the Reales de La Vega, Gigantes Basketball Club, Cañeros del Este, Leones de Santo Domingo and Soles del Este.
Among the main figures who will see action from the start are Luismal Ferreiras (Gigantes), Gerardo Suero (Leones), Eloy Vargas (Héroes), Jonathan Bello (Soles), Luis Feliz (Marineros), Eusebio Suero (Cañeros), Jordan Gerónimo (Metros) and Anderson Mirambeaux (Reales). Later, other stars like Richard Bautista and Jassel Pérez, from the Titanes, will join.
The league also confirmed the continuation of its alliance with the artist Lápiz Conciente and his brand OiO Clothing, a collaboration that last year included the official jingle, City Connect uniforms, digital content and on-field activations, elements that will be maintained during the campaign.
