Santo Domingo.- The Board of Directors of the Sociedad General de Autores, Compositores y Editores Dominicanos de Música (Sgacedom), made the first distribution of its management corresponding to the first quarter of the year 2026, for an amount of RD$34,723,417.51.
The directive headed by the artist Kinito Méndez, states that this distribution includes the general rights, shows, Latinautor, foreign societies and Netflix categories.
From these revenues, Sgacedom allocates a percentage to social assistance actions for its members, invested in executions ranging from payment of medical insurance, funeral expenses, and life insurance for members.
The entity makes 4 distributions per year, which are carried out quarterly and according to a schedule established by its Board of Directors.
According to its president José Del Carmen Ramírez, better known as Kinito Méndez, the institution's new vision is aimed at solidifying a strong corporate image, which allows the trust and credibility of both partners and users and society in general in order to strengthen collective management in the country and achieve better benefits for members, as well as congratulations to music users.

Private Copy
A vital point of the goals of the new management headed by Kinito Méndez is to achieve in the country the implementation of compensatory remuneration for private copying, an instrument that exists in our law 65-00 of copyright and is awaiting a new decree that adapts or regulates its application in a more effective way.
The private copy is a limitation on the exclusive right that the law grants to the author and the owner of content to make copies of it, which allows a person to make a copy of a work for private use without profit, provided that they have had legitimate access to the original and as the exclusive right of the author to authorize or prohibit is being limited, the legislations of many countries establish this compensation, for the damages incurred to the author by establishing limits to their exclusive right. The new Board of Directors of Sgacedom is composed of Kinito Méndez, president; Juan Obdulio de los Santos (Krisspy) vice president; Luis Mariano Lantigua, Treasurer; Elvin Martin Ramírez (Pakole), secretary; Nelson William Mendoza (Nelson de la olla) Social Security; Crecencio García (El Prodigio) 1st Alternate; Cintya Montero 2nd alternate.
