Santo Domingo, R.D. – The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, carried out a supervisory tour of the border line together with the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, and the general commander of the Army, Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez.
The day took place along the international highway that separates the Dominican Republic from Haiti, covering the section from Pedro Santana to Villa Anacaona. The objective was to verify on the ground the dynamics of coexistence between citizens of both countries and to verify the operations of the security agencies deployed, especially the units of the Dominican Republic Army, responsible for surveillance and territorial control. The high-value strategic tour allowed for the evaluation of operational, social, and commercial conditions in the border area, facilitating decisions aimed at strengthening the security, stability, and integral development of these communities.
