Raid leaves two detainees, seizure of drugs and cigarette smuggling in Santiago

Santiago.- A joint operation between agents of the National Police, attached to the Division of Investigation of Crimes against Property (DICRIM), and the Public Ministry culminated in the arrest of two men and the seizure of narcotic substances, smuggled cigarettes and other illicit elements, during a raid carried out in the Buenos Aires sector of this city. The intervention, executed under court order No. 2026-AJ0033143, allowed authorities to seize multiple pieces of evidence linked to illegal activities. Among the items seized were considerable portions of a plant presumed to be marijuana, scales used for weighing substances, 80 white ziploc plastic bags, as well as 130 additional bags of different colors and designs, presumably intended for drug distribution.

Also, 45 packs of Capital brand cigarettes were seized, the origin of which is under investigation for possible smuggling.

The two individuals arrested were inside the residence at the time of the raid and remain in custody for investigation purposes. Meanwhile, the main target of the operation was not located at the scene, so the authorities reported that they are actively tracking him down to find his whereabouts. The Public Ministry took control of the seized evidence and the detainees, while investigations are being deepened to determine the scope of the criminal activities linked to the case.
