Conani confirms death of teenager admitted to the Protection System; investigates circumstances of the event

The National Council for Children and Adolescents (Conani) reported through an official statement the death of a teenager who was under the Protection System since May 15, 2026. According to the institution, the event occurred during the early hours of this Sunday and would be related to the participation of other minors, according to the preliminary investigations that are currently underway. Conani pointed out that the competent authorities are carrying out the corresponding investigation process to clarify the circumstances of the event.

"The institution expresses its dismay at this painful situation and respectfully accompanies the feeling of sorrow generated by the loss of a minor," the organization said in its statement.
