The event, organized by the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC), in conjunction with CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean and UNESCO, aims to strengthen regional cooperation and advance the implementation of public policies aligned with the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

Likewise, it is consolidated as the main regional space for political dialogue on artificial intelligence, with an ethical, humanist, and rights-centered approach, where follow-up will also be given to the previous edition held in Uruguay in 2024.
“For the Dominican Republic, it is an honor to host this summit. We are committed to artificial intelligence at the service of human development, equity, and responsible innovation,” stated Edgar de Jesús Batista Carrasco, general director of OGTIC.
Also, Anne Lemaistre, director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Havana, highlighted: “This summit reaffirms the collective leadership of Latin America and the Caribbean in global debates on the ethical governance of AI.”
The summit will be held in person in Santo Domingo, with online transmission to ensure the broad and diverse participation of all interested sectors.
