Santo Domingo.– On New Year's Eve, citizens consulted by De Último Minuto in different neighborhoods of the capital described 2025 as one of the most difficult years the country has experienced in recent times, while expressing their wish that 2026 bring economic and social improvements and greater tranquility for the population.

Abraham, one of those consulted, stated that from 2020 to date the situation of the Dominican people has been deteriorating, assuring that the most benefited have been officials and high-ranking positions of the State. In his opinion, while a large part of the population faces difficulties, privileged sectors continue to accumulate resources, which, according to what he expressed, has directly affected the youth and the opportunities of the country.
