Colombian singer J Balvin and Puerto Rican rapper Residente met again publicly, a fact that has been interpreted by many as a sign of rapprochement after several years of estrangement, starring in one of the most commented confrontations in urban music.
The image was shared this Wednesday, December 31st, by J Balvin himself on his Instagram account. Although the publication was made at the end of the year, the paisa artist clarified that the meeting took place months ago and that it occurred in a context of dialogue and reflection.

In the message that accompanied the publication, Balvin hinted at a change of stance regarding the conflict that at the time divided opinions among followers of both artists. He pointed out that, in a world marked by conflicts of greater magnitude, the fact that two people with differences can meet again and listen to each other is significant. "We met, we listened to each other and we understood each other. In the end, time is always right," he expressed. This approach comes shortly after the release of J Balvin's first collaboration with the Argentinian producer Bizarrap, an event that sparked special attention due to the background between those involved. In 2022, Bizarrap released a music session with Residente that included strong criticism directed at Balvin, publicly consolidating the rift between both artists. Since then, the relationship between the Colombian and the Puerto Rican became associated with one of the most visible clashes in the urban genre, amidst debates about the music industry and artistic authenticity. However, in recent months, J Balvin's discourse has shown a turn. In an interview with content creator Ibai Llanos, the artist acknowledged that his confrontation with René Pérez was one of the most difficult episodes of his career and admitted that the pressure to compete and excel affected his emotional health.
Balvin assured that he is currently going through a stage focused on calm and forgiveness, and stated that he holds no grudges against Residente, whom he said he appreciates. Although neither of them has confirmed a joint collaboration, the image generated a wave of reactions on social media, where followers celebrated the gesture and expressed their desire to see them work together in the future.
