USA.- The renowned actress Diane Keaton, one of the most beloved and unique figures in American cinema, passed away this Saturday in California at the age of 79, according to a family spokesperson, who requested respect and privacy during this time of mourning.
Born in Los Angeles in 1946 under the name of Diane Hall, she adopted her mother's maiden name as her stage name and became a cinema and fashion icon for more than five decades of career. Keaton achieved worldwide fame thanks to her role as Kay Adams in The Godfather and won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Annie Hall (1977), a film directed by Woody Allen, with whom she collaborated on several emblematic productions such as Sleeper, Love and Death and Manhattan.
