Madrid.- The King of Spain, Felipe VI, will travel to Costa Rica for the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Republic of Costa Rica, Laura Fernández Delgado, which will take place on May 8, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this Tuesday.
According to the note, with the presence at these events, the Government "reinforces the bonds of closeness and affinity that unite the Spanish and Costa Rican peoples, while conveying to the president-elect its willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations between both countries", which share the common space of the Ibero-American Community of Nations.The candidate of the right-wing Sovereign People's Party, a 39-year-old political scientist, obtained a resounding victory in the first round of the presidential elections held in Costa Rica on February 1st.
