Santo Domingo.- The Airport Department (DA) and the Dominican Republic Navy (ARD) signed a collaboration agreement today that seeks to strengthen the protection of airport activities, as well as offer support in the face of risk situations that affect the services of airports and helipads, among other actions aimed at optimizing human resources. The inter-institutional agreement was signed between the executive director of the DA, Víctor Pichardo, and Vice Admiral Juan Bienvenido Crisóstomo Martínez, general commander of the Navy, during a meeting at the DA headquarters, where, in addition, the importance of the initiative was highlighted as a way to develop programs in administrative and strategic areas.

"This inter-institutional agreement constitutes a fundamental element for both the country's connectivity and the joint vision of both institutions, especially considering the actions of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, who has made Dominican tourism a fundamental axis for the economy and the country brand," said Pichardo.

He promised to make great efforts through this agreement, so that the institution he leads can build several helipads and helipads (helicopter platforms), in different areas where the Navy requires it, as a way for them to become fundamental pieces for national security. "See in us an ally so that the Navy is stronger", he said.

While Vice Admiral Crisóstomo Martínez expressed that as the governing naval institution in charge of the security and defense of the maritime part of the country, they are fully willing to support the Airport Department in whatever is necessary, while highlighting the value that the installation of helipads and heliports represents in some dependencies of that institution. "For us, it is an honor to be here in this institution that has become a benchmark of work in the country. We can say that we have made progress, and that is important," he expressed, indicating that the heliports and helipads will not only be useful for national security and defense, but also to respond to any emergency requirement that may arise.
