Aníbal de Castro gana Premio Nacional de Periodismo 2026

Santo Domingo.- El director del periódico gratuito dominicano Diario Libre, Aníbal de Castro, fue anunciado este lunes ganador del Premio Nacional de Periodismo 2026, en reconocimiento a su entrega, profesionalismo y apego a la ética en el ejercicio de la comunicación.

El Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas (CDP) y el Ministerio de Educación de la República Dominicana dieron a conocer en una comunicación, que De Castro ha ejercido un periodismo sustentado en la ética y en los más altos valores que rigen la labor informativa responsable.

El presidente del CDP, Luis Pérez, indicó que la elección del experimentado periodista y embajador es fruto de una carrera caracterizada por la "coherencia, la independencia de criterio y el firme compromiso con la verdad", cualidades que lo convierten en un modelo para las nuevas generaciones de comunicadores.

De su lado, el ministro de Educación, Luis De Camps, felicitó al galardonado y destacó su trayectoria como un "verdadero referente del periodismo responsable", en un contexto en el que la credibilidad adquiere un valor determinante.

De Castro es ampliamente reconocido por su trayectoria en el periodismo, marcada por su ejercicio crítico, analítico y ético de la comunicación, destacó la información.

El galardonado, quien recibirá un premio en metálico de un millón de pesos (unos 16.200 dólares), fue fundador de Diario Libre y de la desaparecida revista de investigación Rumbo.

En el campo diplomático ha sido embajador dominicano en Estados Unidos, España, Reino Unido, Bélgica y ante la Unión Europea (UE).
