Santo Domingo.– The General Directorate of Medicines, Food and Sanitary Products (DIGEMAPS) reported that it has reinforced inspection operations in different parts of the country to combat the illicit trade of medicines and remove products that do not comply with sanitary standards from the market.
As a result of these interventions, the entity has seized medications that lacked sanitary registration, were adulterated, relabeled, expired, or were being marketed irregularly.
The institution explained that these actions are part of its permanent health surveillance program, with the objective of preventing the circulation of products that could put the population’s health at risk.
