Santo Domingo.- On the occasion of Mother's Day, the Banreservas Volunteer Program held the event "Where love is born", a moving activity celebrated simultaneously in Santo Domingo and Santiago, aimed at the collaborators of the financial institution.
The day was led by Dr. Carmen Alicia Quijano de Aguilera, president of the Banreservas Volunteer Program, who, during her central remarks, highlighted the significance of this commemoration and reflected on the value of motherhood. She also thanked the participants and expressed that "being a mother represents an experience of unconditional love, dedication, guidance, protection and sacrifice, from the moment a being is carried in the womb to whom life is given". During her intervention, she also addressed historical aspects related to the celebration of Mother's Day, as well as the different ways in which this date is commemorated in various countries, including the Dominican Republic, where it is celebrated on the last Sunday of May. Similarly, he explained the symbolism of the white and red carnations linked to this date, pointing out that the white carnation represents the absence of the mother, while the red one symbolizes mothers who are alive.
