New York.- A United Airlines plane, which was covering the route between Newark (New Jersey) and Palma de Mallorca (Spain), had to return shortly after starting the flight due to a Bluetooth device that a passenger had named 'bomb', according to passengers who informed various media outlets.
At 17:58 on Saturday, the plane took off from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) bound for Palma de Mallorca and approximately two hours later, when it was in the middle of the Atlantic, returned to the airport of origin due to a security emergency.
As explained by some passengers to the specialized portal AirLive, the aircraft crew ordered passengers to disconnect all Bluetooth devices immediately.
The flight attendants explained that it was an order from United's headquarters in Chicago and warned that if all devices were not turned off, the plane would have to return.
