Body found decomposing at Rafey landfill; authorities investigate

Santiago.- The body of a man in an advanced state of decomposition was found this Tuesday afternoon at the Rafey landfill, in Santiago. The body was located on the premises of the company Clipen Global, dedicated to the management of solid waste within the landfill. According to preliminary information, the deceased had been in the place for several days before being found.

So far, the man's identity has not been established, nor have details about the circumstances or causes of his death been offered.

The body was taken by the relevant authorities and transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), in Santiago, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

In the place, members of the Fire Department were also present, who collaborated in the work alongside agents of the National Police and representatives of the Public Ministry, entities that are keeping an investigation open on the case. On their part, representatives from the company Clipen Global did not offer statements regarding the finding.
