Monte Plata.– After more than 30 years of waiting, local authorities announced the imminent start of the construction of the bridge over the Guanuma River, a work considered vital for the communication and development of the communities of Mamá Tingó and Los Botados, in the municipality of Yamasá.
The mayor of Mamá Tingó, Franklin Trinidad, informed that the works will begin in the coming weeks, immediately after Easter, as established by the contracting company. As part of the initial process, the preparation of the land at both ends of the river is contemplated, as well as the enabling of a provisional detour to guarantee transit during the execution of the work.
The municipal executive highlighted that this project has been a historical demand of the community, which it continued to promote since its arrival at the mayor's office.
"Today we see a dream that our people have fought for for years closer. This work will mark a before and after for Mamá Tingó," she expressed.
